In 2015 Shinpei Mawatari came to Yoichi and brought with him his skills as a potter using the local clays and earth of Yoichi and Hokkaido. This experience takes place in Mr. Mawatari’s countryside studio, and after learning some

simple techniques, you’ll be able to take your time and make your own special earthenware. Whether you make a mug by hand, or plates and cups using the potters wheel, we hope you make a special Yoichi keepsake to take home with you.
